About me
Sandi Stroud started her career as the GIS manager in the City of Laurel, Maryland, where she was a one-person GIS division. She went on to work for the Baltimore Metropolitan Council, coordinating multiple large jurisdictions on data sharing initiatives. During that time, the developing requirements for NG911 piqued her interest in public safety GIS, specifically 911. She contributed her knowledge in this area via NENA committee involvement, standards documentation, and authoring the curriculum for a URISA NG911 GIS workshop.
Sandi then joined Michael Baker International where she led a team of public safety and GIS professionals for over five years in the development of a suite of solutions for stakeholders charged with readying data for NG911. Most recently Sandi spent time at the State of Minnesota as the Director of MNGEO where she aided the state emergency communications networks office in the drafting of the statewide NG9-1-1 GIS Implementation plan.
Sandi holds a degree in Urban Studies and Planning from California State University Northridge
